Speaker Bio: Martin Frost CBE

Martin Frost CBE is a recognised commercial leader with over 20 years of experience in starting, financing, and scaling technology and life science businesses around Cambridge.

Awarded the CBE in the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours for Services to Robotics and British Industry, Martin co-founded CMR Surgical in 2014. As CEO, he was named UK ‘Disruptor’ of the Year and ‘Executive of the Year’ in 2019, reflecting his success in taking CMR to global commercialisation with its surgical robot, Versius, and raising over £250 million.

Previously, Martin held C-suite positions, including CEO and CFO of Sagentia, which he listed on the London Stock Exchange. He is a Chartered Management Accountant and a Cambridge University graduate.

Passionate about purpose-driven businesses, Martin has expertise in building and leading technical and commercial teams, raising capital, and forming industrial partnerships. His work spans Medtech, Technology, and FinTech sectors.

Martin advises and serves on the boards of several early and growth-stage companies in the UK. His accolades include EY Entrepreneur of the Year for Industry Disruptors (2019), MedTech Global Executive of the Year (2019), and CEO of the Year by Cambridge Independent (2018). He is also a Bessemer Society Lifetime Fellowship Award recipient.
